How Long Does A DUI Stay On Your Record In Oklahoma?

Reader’s Question:

In Oklahoma, how long does a DUI remain on your MVR?

Allan

Lawton OK

In Oklahoma, driving under the influence (DUI) is considered misdemeanor. The penalties for DUI may include imprisonment for not less than 10 days but not more than a year , $1,000 fine or both.

The Oklahoma Department of Public Safety states that conviction of traffic offense, collision, or any out of state violations will be placed on your driving record. This will be kept by the OK DPS and will be transferred if you apply for a license in a different state.

According to the Oklahoma driver’s manual conviction for a DUI will stay on a driver’s record. If you convicted of driving a car under the influence of drugs, this will affect you for the rest of your life. So this would mean that DUI stays on your OK motor vehicle record for the rest of your life.

You may speak with any OK DPS representative and ask them if this DUI conviction will stay on your driving record forever or if theres any way this can be removed from your driving record.

 Fred

Ardmor, OK.

Fred,

Some carriers do not offer policies for those who have filed an SR-22. So, The effects of a DUI on your insurance can be hard to manage.
